Map the sunny hours
Notice where direct sun lands in the morning and afternoon. Seasonal changes and nearby buildings can alter that pattern.
Check the actual shelf
A window may be bright while the shelf a few feet away is much dimmer. Judge the plant's eventual position, not just the room in general.
Match the label
Choose plants suited to the observed light and check other needs, including temperature and pet safety. Move a plant gradually if its current spot is clearly unsuitable.
Will a bright room suit every plant?
No. Some plants need direct sun and others can scorch there; compare the actual spot with the specific plant's requirements.
