Plants Without Blocking the Room
Greenery belongs in a lived-in space, not in the route from the door to the sofa.

Draw the walking line
Walk the ordinary path through the room carrying a bag. Move stands and trailing leaves away from narrow turns and door swings.
Keep care access open
A pot should be reachable for watering and inspection without moving furniture. Consider spills and weight before placing a large container high up.
Check who shares the room
Research plant toxicity for pets and children before placement. Put uncertain or hazardous plants out of reach or choose a safer alternative.
Is a plant stand always helpful?
Only if it is stable, fits the route and puts the plant at a suitable light level.
